Those wanting a spin on the ferris wheel or to chomp down on a dagwood dog will have to wait until next year.
The Townsville Show has been cancelled this year because of COVID-19 restrictions, Win News is reporting.
Townsville Show Society boss Chris Condon earlier this month said planning for the show, which was meant to be held on July 4-6 was still going ahead.
But it appears strict restrictions forced organisers to cancel.

Questions still remain over whether Townsville will get its annual show holiday.
The Townsville Annual Show holiday was due to be held on July 6 according to the State Government. The date remains in place on its website.
Show day public holidays are approved by the Minister for Industrial Relations Grace Grace.
“The show day public holidays across the state are still scheduled to proceed, unless a request for a cancellation, deferral or reschedule is made by the relevant local authority,” a department spokesperson said.
“Any changes will be published in the Government Gazette and on the Queensland Government website. If the day is a gazetted Show day it will attract the usual public holiday penalties.”
