Cops need witnesses, video to investigate serious crash

Police are seeking the help of witnesses as they probe a serious crash involving a car and two trucks on the Flinders Highway.

Police are seeking the help of witnesses as they probe a serious three-vehicle crash.

A car driving south on the Flinders Highway, near Woodstock about 2.30pm Monday collided with one truck and then another.

Queensland Ambulance Service senior operations supervisor Tony Kirkham told media the car and truck were travelling in opposite directions.

The driver of the car, a 64-year-old woman from Charters Towers, was flown to Townsville University Hospital in a critical condition. The woman was later said to be in a stable condition.

“We’re expecting them to make a full recovery. Their condition is quite serious but they are stable at the moment and they are in the best of hands,” Mr Kirkham said.

The truck drivers were not physically injured.

Forensic Crash Unit investigators urged anyone who witnessed the crash or may have dashcam footage to contact police through Policelink on 131 444 or Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
