A man could find himself on the scales of justice after allegedly stealing a coin-operated set of scales from a Townsville shopping centre.
CCTV captured the moment the man, dressed in three-quarter shorts, long sleeved T-shirt and cap while sucking on a broken cigarette, hoisted the heavy machine towards the exit of Stockland Shopping Centre in Aitkenvale.
A Queensland Police Service spokeswoman said the suspect “forcibly removed the large body weight scales from the centre” on February 3 about 8.05am.
Police only released the image of the man this month, hoping the public may help identify him.
“He has exited via the Alfred St doors,” the QPS spokeswoman said.
“The scales are the ones that people put coins in and then stand on.”
The man is one of 25 suspects wish to speak to in relation to a number of crimes committed across Townsville.
