THE mysterious Saint painted on the side of Castle Hill has suddenly been adorned with a festive decoration.

Instead of the halo which normally tops the Saint, he now wears a Santa hat which lights up at night.

As to who placed it on there, that remains unknown. The mysterious decoration follows the origin of the Saint which was painted on the side of the hill under the cover of darkness by Peter Higgins, Lyall Ford, Graeme Bowen, Rod Froyland, David Greve, Bob Sothman and Barrie Snarski on March 17, 1962.

The new addition does add a festive cheer however.
