The Toyota Landcruiser ute, worth about $120,000 was found on its side after it rolled on Seventh Ave in Home Hill shortly after 7pm on Saturday night.

The owner of the car, Eugene Burelli, 20, reported to police the ute had been stolen from an Ayr residence about 6.15pm Saturday afternoon.

He said he was standing next to the ute when the alleged “opportune” offender took off in it.

After paying $100,000 for his prized possession, Mr Burelli said he was devastated by what's occurred because he was only three weeks away from having his car finance fully paid.
