A car has ploughed into a home minutes after neighbours heard a man yelling and smashing property in a shocking incident at Ayr.

Queensland Police Service were called to Cameron St, Ayr about 10.20am this morning after multiple calls for help.

Initial reports suggested a man was yelling inside the home and breaking property before a car was driven into the veranda of the home.

Police are on scene at an Ayr home where a car was driven through a home.

A spokesman from QPS said the car caused significant damage to the home.
