A car exploded in a ball of flame, igniting suspicions it may have been stolen.
Firefighters responded to the fire at the intersection off Pinnacle Dr and Santal Dr, Rasmussen shortly after 4am.
A witness said the car was “an exploding fireball”.
A Queensland Fire and Emergency Services spokeswoman said the car was well alight by the time crews had arrived and there were no reports of people inside.
The fire was extinguished by 4.20am.
Police were investigating the fire.
In a separate incident, firefighters were called to a house fire in Cosgrove on Sunday night.
“We got a call form the neighbour who could hear the smoke alarm and could smell smoke,” the QFES spokeswoman said.
The occupants of the house on Monolith Circuit were evacuated. Three patients were assessed on scene for smoke inhalation by paramedics but declined being taken to hospital.
A fan was found to be the cause of the fire.
