Bush fire smoke is impacting traffic on the Bruce Highway.

Queensland Fire and Emergency Services advised there is a bush fire burning in the Clemant State Forest, adjacent to the Bruce Highway, north of Townsville.

Multiple Queensland Parks and Wildlife Service and QFES crews are working to contain the fire.

Smoke will affect surrounding areas, including motorists on the Bruce Highway. Police are directing traffic as required.

QFES advised properties were not under direct at this time.
