Walkers were left scratching their heads after stumbling upon a small battered car left abandoned at the top of the Mount Louisa summit as council mulls removal options.

The discovery of a white Holden Astra perched precariously at the peak of Mount Louisa this week has left locals confused, with social media abuzz with theories on how the intrepid driver navigated the rocky terrain to reach such lofty heights.

“I’m not even mad, I’m impressed,” one commenter said.

“Looking at the state of it, the ‘lil beast felt every bit of the track’s gnarliness,” said another.

A Townsville City Council spokesman said they were aware of an abandoned vehicle at Mount Louisa and that council was “investigating removal options.”

Its understood police are also aware of the abandoned vehicle.
