With Mother’s Day never falling on the same date, one Townsville mum is feeling the extra love with the arrival of her baby girl.

“It’s unconditional love in its purest form,” Tita Kelemete said of giving birth.

With her partner Timothy Self by her side, Ms Kelemete gave birth at Townsville University Hospital at 1.27am to Lucy Luta Self.

Recalling the moment she laid eyes on her baby and held her for the first time, Ms Kelemete said she was overwhelmed with love.

“It was shock and amazement,” she said.

“I can’t describe the adrenaline and emotion, and joy with everyone in the room.”

Settling in to life as parents for the second time, Ms Kelemete said she was excited to introduce Lucy to her big sister Scarlett, 4 who was patiently waiting at home with her Nan.

“She randomly goes up to random babies and tries to feed them so now she’ll have her own baby to annoy,” she said.

Ms Kelemete said Mother’s Day was a chance to acknowledge all mums including her own.

“Every mother is unique in their own special way and Mother’s Day provides another moment to acknowledge them,” she said.
