Stunning new concept photos have revealed key new details about the construction of Townsville’s first luxury hotel, Ardo.

Images released by Morris Group include a new photo of Tropical North Queensland’s first and only rooftop infinity pool, situated 25m above the Coral Sea with sumptuous views across to Magnetic Island.

The artist’s impression shows the pool will be surrounded by terracotta-hued sun loungers and feature green glass mosaic tiles.

“It is heralded to be the jewel in Ardo’s luxurious crown allowing guests to take in 180-degree ocean views from the sun-drenched rooftop with a cocktail in hand,” Morris Group said on Tuesday.

“While access to the rooftop pool and the 48 surrounding daybeds will be a perk for hotel guests only, bookings will be available to the public for Ardo’s Rooftop Bar serving up expertly curated cocktails and tapas-style eats.”

Situated next to Morris Group’s other Townsville resort, The Ville, the $88m development will feature 132 rooms and suites with predominantly ocean views, world-class dining, a day spa and a rooftop pool deck.

Ardo and The Ville CEO Michael Jones said the pool would be the “hottest new place to enjoy North Queensland’s stunning sunsets over the Coral Sea”.

“The rooftop infinity pool and bar will deliver a new level of luxury and relaxation in the tropics, all within an architecturally designed five-star resort,” he said.

“Ardo hotel guests will soon be able to sip a cool drink by the infinity pool while looking out to the world’s largest and most celebrated reef system.”

Construction of the Dubois-designed luxury hotel is on track with bookings for the hotel and rooftop spaces expected to be announced imminently.
