Townsville Enterprise have announced a popular campaign is returning for 2025, giving ‘Mates Rates’ for holidays to enjoy the best of the city.

The Mates Rates campaign, which sold out in 72 hours last year, is returning again and will give locals a chance to get 50 per cent off tours, accommodation and experiences up to the value of $250 by registering through the Townsville North Queensland website.

The campaign was first announced to help the regions tourism sector after the effects of Cyclone Kirrilly saw a mass cancellation of bookings.

Designed to support local tourism and increase visitation during the low season, luxury places like The Ville and Ardo are available to be booked, as well as experiences on Magnetic Island including the Museum of Underwater Art or Pilgrim Sailing.

After the success of last years ‘Mates Rates’ campaign Townsville Enterprise Director of Visitor Economy and Marketing Lisa Woolfe said it showed locals were keen to explore their own backyards.

“We’re thrilled to bring back the Mates Rates campaign for 2025,” she said.

“This campaign sold out in record time last year, and we’re confident it will do so again. Last year the response from both locals and visitors was overwhelmingly positive, with businesses reporting significant increase in bookings and exposure.”

General manager of hotel and property services at The Ville and Ardo Brent Clark said the 2024 had a remarkable impact on the travel industry in Townsville.

“Last year’s Mates Rates campaign was incredible for our business, we saw significant bookings and loved having so many locals stay with us, many for the first time,” he said.

Those interested can register at townsvillenorthqueensland.com.au by February 9 for the unique discount code. The sale will then go live on February 10 and will be available until sold out.

Holidays are bookable until April 3 2025 and are valid for 50 per cent of all tours, accommodation and experiences up to the value of $250.
