Police are on the hunt for an armed robber who fled a Hermit Park service station with a sum of cash overnight.
Detectives from the Townsville Criminal Investigation Branch are appealing for information following the armed robbery of the Liberty service station on Charters Towers Rd at about 10pm on Monday.
Police said a man entered the service station and indicated that he was carrying a knife before making demands for money.
The staff member, who was not physically injured, complied, and the man fled on foot with a sum of cash.
Police said the man is described as caucasian in appearance, around 185cm tall with a proportionate build and was wearing dark-coloured clothing.
Investigators are appealing to anyone with information to come forward and are asking homeowners, businesses and motorists in the vicinity to provide relevant CCTV or dashcam footage. Anonymous reports can be made.
