Townsville Anti-aging clinic reveals cutting-edge skin rejuvenation technology using Morpheus8

A Townsville business is in the box seat to capitalise on a growing, celebrity-led trend within the cosmetic industry after embracing cutting-edge technology never seen outside south east Queensland.

Driven by the passion to help her patients be the best version of themselves, registered Cosmetic Nurse Practitioner Nicole Shir has worked throughout Australia over the past 16 years, providing cosmetic injectable treatments, as well as other support for women as they aged, like pelvic floor tightening.

Discussing the leading cosmetic trends, Ms Shir said “skin rejuvenation is huge in 2023 and 2024 … where people just want to feel like they have glowing, rejuvenated skin”.

“Cosmeceutical skincare is a big thing at the moment. It’s like a medical higher-grade skincare than what you get on the shelf. It’s natural and it’s easy to access” Ms Shir said.

Teaming up with managing director Josh Redel, they opened Townsville Anti-aging clinic at Warrina Shopping Centre in July, which provided the perfect base from which to operate their new Morpheus8 machine.

Combining microneedling with powerful fractional radio frequency technology, the Morpheus 8 provides highly customisable treatment of fine lines, wrinkles, acne scars, pore size reduction and overall skin concerns for all skin types.

“What makes Morpheus8 unique is that it strategically targets and strengthens the fibro-septal network, resulting in improved appearance of the skin and reduced irregularities,” she said.

“That’s why I got the Morpheus machine, because I’m finding that a lot of people want to feel so rejuvenated but not down the injectable trail so to speak.

“You see a lot of celebrities like Naomi Watts and Kim Kardashian having this Morpheus (treatment) because they want to have radiant glowing skin.

“The results really speak for themselves … we are seeing amazing results where clients have had surgical scars literally disappear.”

Because Morpheus bookings took an hour, compared to a 15-minute injectables appointment, Ms Shir said the bookings were being taken up quickly, with the earliest available in mid-October.

Otto’s Fresh Food Market owner Don Peel said Ms Shir had been a regular customer at Warrina Shopping Centre before jumping on the opportunity to join the Ottos family after a rare tenancy reshuffle.

“We always get great feedback when something new pops up, but specifically when something as pretty as her store has come about – it’s a good looking fit-out, it suits the old style that we’ve got there but it has a fresh look.

“It’s always difficult for a business to move into the oldest shopping centre in North Queensland at least, so she fits in very well.

“I think her customers are happy to have the extra service of a cup of coffee, or a small patisserie after a treatment, and it complements our other tenants as well. It’s been a wonderful addition.”
