Far North Fusion’s senior grades put together some superb innings to win five of six games across three grades at Townsville.
While the Far North swept to all three North Queensland championships, these six innings were the best.
Meanwhile, 11 Cricket Far North players were selected in the regional representative outfit.
JUSTIN REID (Opens)
The Far North boys were hurting after a loss on day one so what better way than to come out and smash triple figures?
Thirteen fours, four sixes in an exciting 127 run knock by the man from Mulgrave, Justin Reid, as he put Central to the sword and led the way to a big total.
RHYS CAMILLERI (Opens)
Reidy couldn’t have all fun, so when Rhys Camilleri came to the crease he picked up where the veteran left off.
The ex-Rovers lad blasted four boundaries and three sixes in a 36-ball 53.
He remained unbeaten to rub salt in CQ’s wounds.
CHRIS ADAMS (Under-21s)
A first innings 29 was not enough, so Adams made his time count against Central, hitting 17 fours and five sixes in his 147 from 130 balls.
It set up a monster innings, as the Fusion scored 326 from 50 overs.
LIAM DEVIETTI (Under-21s)
We’ll label Liam Mr Consistent after a super weekend with the bat.
He found the fence nine times in a 49-run first innings, than mashed a superb 66 which featured 10 fours and five sixes.
BEN SHRIMPTON (Under-21s)
A few men put up their hand for this spot, but it has to go to Shrimpton for his half century against Mackay.
His 53 featured eight fours and two sixes, and with Devietti bagged a win for the Fusion.
FINN CHURCHWARD (Under-18s)
A first-day duck can spoil any cricketer’s good vibes, but Churchward didn’t let that slow him down.
He bounced back the next day, slashing 72 to set up a big win for the under-18 Fusion.
