A man charged with the murder of a mother of four by allegedly running her over with his car has made a plea in his case.
Appearing via videolink into Hobart Magistrates Court on Thursday, James Kenneth Austin pleaded not guilty to a charge of murder.
Austin’s barrister told Chief Magistrate Catherine Geason that there would be no preliminary proceedings application made.
The remaining charges, which included unrelated driving and drug matters, were adjourned without plea.
Austin, 38, is accused of murdering Jacqui Purton, 37, after allegedly running her down in his car on March 13 this year at a property near Campania.
Ms Purton was also known as Jacqui Bergman.
Austin was remanded in custody and will appear in the Supreme Court in mid June.
