Man charged with drink driving, police are calling for witnesses

Police are calling for witnesses to of an incident where drunk driver allegedly swerved into the path of an oncoming vehicle.
Police say the wreckless driving incident occured about 7pm on Friday night on West Tamar Highway in Trevallyn.
A black Hilux ute allegedly crossed in to the northbound lane nearly colliding with another vehicle, according to a witness who reported the incident to police.
A male driver in his 50s was taken into custody and charged with high-range drink driving.
Police would like the driver of the vehicle involved in the near collision, or any witnesses who may have dash cam footage, to come forward and contact Launceston Police on 131444.
A vehicle and caravan have rolled in a single-vehicle crash on Spring Hill on the Midland Highway.
Emergency services are attending the scene of a single-vehicle motor crash south of Tunbridge.
The incident occurred about 12.40pm and the vehicle involved was towing a caravan, according to police. No injuries have been reported and all three occupants are out of the vehicle.
All southbound lanes were closed for about an hour while the scene was cleared.
Police are advising motorists to seek an alternate route or delay travelling south.
‘House going well’: Man treated for smoke inhalation after fire
UPDATED 10.30AM: A man has been treated for smoke inhalation after a house fire in Tasmania’s north.
It’s understood Tasmania Fire Service crews have contained the blaze.
EARLIER 9AM: Fire Service crews are currently battling a house fire in the state’s north.
Crews from Devonport and Latrobe are currently attending the structure fire at Raymond Ave, Devonport.
A triple-0 call was made before 9am Sunday morning.
“On arrival the crews have confirmed that the house is going well,” TFS said in a statement.
