A 47-year-old New Norfolk woman has appeared in the Hobart Magistrates Court charged with attempted murder.
Tamara Adams was charged at an out-of-hours court sitting on Saturday morning.
Ms Adams did not plead to the charge and was remanded in custody to re-appear in court on Monday morning.
The charge arises from an incident in which police said a 74-year-old man received gunshot and stab wounds at a house in Humphrey Street at New Norfolk on Friday night.
A police spokesman said the man remains in a critical condition in the Royal Hobart Hospital.
