Media personality, podcaster and reality television host Abbie Chatfield is keen to find out what Tasmanians think is funny.

Chatfield is taking her successful The Trauma Dump Tour on the road, and visiting Hobart for the first time.

“When I tour I find that different cities find different jokes funnier, or they reacted to different parts, or quite liked certain parts of the show, and it’s different for every single city,” Chatfield said of her experience touring the show across capital cities last year.

Chatfield was interested to find out the “funny, iconic local lore” in Tasmania for her Instagram series where she rounds up her favourite aspects of the regional cities she is about to tour.

She indicated that she’d get around the North v South beer divide as her old radio co-host and anchor Tasmanian Rohan Edwards was from Launceston, and therefore on the Boags side.

“He’s from Launnie, so I’m like maybe I can be from Hobart,” Chatfield said.

She said musicians, such as boyfriend Adam Hyde from Peking Duk, tend to love small intimate venues but sharing her individual and personal experiences was a bit more daunting.

“I’m actually more nervous about the regional tours because it’s smaller rooms and it feels more personal and more intimate,” Chatfield said.

“We’re talking about sharing sh---y dating stories in a funny way and it’s almost judging my personal life.”

She said “the girlies” were the main demographic that attended the capital tour, but said there were a surprising number of men who attended and also loved it.

Chatfield is kicking off the regional tour of the Trauma Dump Tour in Hobart on Friday October 11 at the Odeon Theatre.
