Nine year old Natalia already has hair down to her bum.

This weekend, she will be cutting more than 60cm off for kids with cancer.

“I want them to feel more self confident,” Natalia said.

The cut will be a big change for Natalia who has become known for her long ponytail sticking up whenever she is swimming, sparring at the gym or running around.

Natalia’s friend shaved his hair and donated it to be made into wigs two years ago and she has been growing her hair for the cause ever since.

“When I saw him do it I really wanted to do it too,” she said.

She is planning to get her hair cut to just above shoulder length so the hair can be made into wigs for wigs for kids.

Wigs For Kids pairs hair stylists and donors together to make wigs for children experiencing hair loss from chemotherapy, alopecia or other medical conditions resulting in hair loss.

A barbecue fundraiser to support Natalia as she chops off almost 60cm of her hair will be held on June 15 from 12.30pm at Hybrid Training Centre gym on Argyle St.

The gym is Natalia and little brother Bentley’s second home, as their dad Brodey Coleman trains there basically every day.

He said they are like family at the gym, and Natalia refers to many of the men as her “uncles”.

Her army of support will be behind her when she gets the lob.

Father Brodey Coleman said the gym was a great community who had rallied behind Natalia.
