INTERSTATE public servant Vicki Telfer has been appointed as the NT’s new Commissioner for Public Employment.
Minister for Public Employment Gerry McCarthy announced that the Sydneysider had been appointed to the top role on Thursday, replacing former Commissioner Craig Allen.
With more than 20 years in the public sector, Ms Telfer most recently worked as the Deputy Secretary People Strategy in the NSW Treasury Department.

Mr McCarthy said she was expected to formally start in the role on September 2.
“Ms Telfer will bring a wealth of experience and knowledge to the role of Commissioner of Public Employment,” he said.
“Ms Telfer has an extensive background in directing and leading strategic industrial and employee relations matters and is committed to delivering workforce strategies and initiatives towards improving public sector performance.
“I welcome our new Commissioner of Public Employment with confidence she will continue to effectively manage and develop the Northern Territory’s public service, building a strong, equitable and efficient workforce.”

Ms Telfer has a Master of Administrative Law and Policy, a Master of Public Affairs, a Bachelor of Science and Graduate Diploma in Education.
