GRAPHIC images of hundreds of schoolgirls and women across the country have been posted on a porn-sharing website that authorities are powerless to close down.

The pornography ring has targeted girls at more than 30 state and private schools in NSW, with one user offering to trade up to 300 nude photos in return for a lewd shot of a named student he was tracking.

Detectives from the Sex Crimes Squad’s child exploitation internet unit said yesterday they were working with local and international authorities to shut down the foreign-based website but were so far unsuccessful.

They urged anyone who believed their photo had been posted to the site to contact police.

Thousands of explicit images have been posted or traded by Australian members of the pornography ring since it began last December, with many victims unaware their photos had been exposed to a global audience.

Queensland teenager Tiahna Prosser said she was horrified to learn site users were being offered bonus points to post nude photos of her.

“It was like I had been sold,” she said.

“It’s just horrible, especially when they want it of you specifically. That’s when it’s really disturbing.

“It’s violating.

“It’s not something I want to think about.”

Site users have posted requests for people to share pornographic images of specific girls at schools or universities in exchange for other images.

In one comment on the site, a user says: “Who has nudes of this bitch? I hear she throws it around!”

And in another: “I’m posting pretty much all the hottest little teens I have. All high quality images from Maitland, Newcastle, Cessnock, Rutherford etc.”

A mum from Coffs Harbour on the state’s north coast said she was “disgusted” to be mentioned in a post asking for nude photos of her.

“I’m a single mother … that just makes me feel really unsafe,” she said.

I felt very vulnerable and very worried about how it would impact on her and very concerned about the level of violation that other girls on the site are also facing.

A 20-year-old woman said a nude selfie she sent to an ex-boyfriend when she was in Year 12 ended up on the site.

“I had no idea that it was on there but, now I have had a look, I feel violated,” she said.

“They are sent in an intimate setting and the fact they are now out there for anyone to see is not fair on me or any of the other girls.”

At least 70 schools and their students have been targeted nationwide by the website, which refers to nude images as “wins”.

Some desperate teens have posted on the site to plead for the sexual images and revenge porn from ex-boyfriends to be taken down.

“I was scared that there was a whole community dedicated to humiliating and violating girl’s privacy,”

Education Minister Adrian Piccoli refused to comment yesterday.

A spokesman provided only a short statement: “When NSW public schools are made aware of any potential criminal activity online they immediately contact the police. As this matter is being investigated it is inappropriate to comment further.”

The NSW Education Department said schools would provide confidential support and counselling to any student affected.

The private Wenona School at North Sydney said it was aware of the website and was dealing with the issue but declined to comment further.

The KPMG social media group, which helps schools with online protection, said the reputation of the schools on the site had “taken a hit”.

“If monitoring programs were in place these activities would have been uncovered long ago,” chief analyst Anthony Mason said.

“This is stuff that can ruin a life.’’
