They’re the views that inspire hearts, minds and Instagram accounts everywhere.
But what if we could go beyond the traditional two-dimensional photo, what if we could virtually be at Bondi Icebergs or looking over the Harbour Bridge?
Introducing the 360-degree spherical image.
You can immerse yourself in our city highlights.
Zoom in, zoom out and spin around to your heart’s content.
Check out these images of the Harbour Bridge, Circular Quay, Bondi Icebergs, a trip on the Sydney Harbour Ferry and Luna Park.
Here we go!
We headed to, admittedly, the tourist hotspots of city - but let us know in the comments below where in Sydney and beyond you would like us to take some spherical snaps.
How it works:
We used the Ricoh Theta S to capture these photos, a pocket-sized camera which takes a 14MP image with twin fish-eye lenses on either side, which is then stitched together to create the panoramic.
The photograph(s) itself is taken in a micro-second, and the image is then processed, before being beamed to your smartphone, or saved for later uploading to the internet. Video is also possible.
