Stand by for a summer of sliding

My daughter, Iona, has helped me explore and write about many water parks for Hello Sydney Kids. She’s a water slide expert, she even makes her own at home!

Iona loved her visit to Wet’n’Wild Sydney, Australia’s largest water park, and was keen to let other kids know her top tips for enjoying their visit.

We had a great time at Wet’n’Wild Sydney, which is open for the summer.

This is what other kids would like:

1. Go with a lot of friends because that means you will have a better time and you will be able to talk and have fun together. And your mums and dads can talk too and sit on the lounges.

2. If you like frappes, you need to try the new Village Bean Coffee House. They will have different flavours through the season so you can try them all.

3. Always get there early. Wet’n’Wild Sydney opens at 10am, but get there before to grab a good parking spot and also when inside get some lounges for your family.

4. Read the website to learn about all the slides before you go. You have to work out what you really want to go on and maybe which ones might be scary. The fastest ones are the 360Rush, T5 and Bombara.

5. If you don’t like the dark, then don’t do the Aquatube or Tropical Cyclone unless you want to scare yourself. I like them but some of my friends don’t.

6. If you have little brothers and sisters then definitely go to the Nickelodeon Beach. There are water playgrounds and loads of characters like Dora and Spongebob. There are water slides for little kids there too. It’s even fun for older kids to play around there, you should definitely have a look.

7. The Beach is a huge swimming pool with waves that are quite big. You have to have a grown up with you all the time in there. It’s really good.

8. Don’t miss the Dinosaur Lagoon because you will like making them move, and their big roars will give you a fright. There’s also a lazy river to float around with a big rubber ring and that’s cool.

9. The Curler and the Typhoon were two of the best because you sit in a big raft with four people in it and it’s good to go together and all scream really loudly.

10. Take loads of towels because you will be there all day and it’s great to have a dry towel for the end of the day. If you got a car park close to the entry, you will be happy too because you will be really tired.

Thanks Iona, and for sure we will be going to Wet’n’Wild Sydney again this summer, and following all your top tips ourselves.
