Footage has emerged of a wild brawl in which residents of a northern suburbs home wave machetes at a car which repeatedly lurches toward them.

The terrifying fight unfolded between neighbours on Bubner St, in Elizabeth South.

An 18-year-old man was taken to hospital and another was injured but did not need medical treatment.

Northern District police are investigating the incident, which occurred around 12pm on Thursday, and “are following positive lines of enquiry”.

Footage obtained by 7NEWS shows three men - two of them shirtless - in the front yard of a home, yelling at a neighbour across the street.

The men are brandishing what appear to be machetes when a silver Holden commodore screeches into view.

The car mounts the curb and hurtles into the yard, where the men begin thumping the vehicle and throwing objects.

The driver reverses, clipping one of the men on the legs, before driving forward again and hitting another man on the legs.

The car appears to reverse and lurch forward twice more before speeding away from the house.

Residents on the street, including young children, watched terrified as the violence erupted.
