A man will face court over a horrifying crash that killed a young Mannum man last month.

Emergency services were called to King George St after a car struck a pedestrian, 28, just after 7pm on Sunday, August 27.

The 28-year-old Mannum man was treated by paramedics at the scene before being flown to the Royal Adelaide Hospital in a critical condition.

He later died from his injuries on Monday.

Following an investigation by Major Crash Investigators to determine the circumstances surrounding the crash, a 72-year-old local man was reported over the incident.

Police said in a statement on Monday, the 72-year-old man was reported for “aggravated driving without due care.”

He is scheduled to appear in the Murray Bridge Magistrates Court at a later date.

The driver was not physically injured from the crash but taken to Mannum Hospital as a precaution.

It was one of two serious crashes that happened within 15 minutes of each other on Sunday night.

In the first, a car and motorcycle crashed on North East Rd, Hillcrest, near Dragon St, about 7pm.

The rider, a 28-year-old man from Parafield Gardens, was taken to the Royal Adelaide Hospital in a serious but non-life-threatening condition.

The motorist, a 25-year-old Salisbury East woman, was also taken to the Royal Adelaide Hospital with minor injuries.

Police closed the northeast bound road but it has since been reopened.

Meanwhile police are investigating a crash at Woodville North and are appealing for witnesses.

At around 8.30pm on Sunday August 20, police were called to Ninth Ave after reports a yellow Holden VE Commodore crashed into two parked vehicles and fled the scene.

The car was last seen travelling south on Hanson Rd.

Police are seeking members of the public who may have witnessed the crash or have any information to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000 and quote reference 23-132M.
