Pro-Palestine protesters rally again in Adelaide to condemn war in Gaza

Adelaide’s second pro-Palestine rally has drawn an even bigger crowd than a similar event held just a week earlier.

Adelaide’s pro-Palestinian protesters gathered again on the steps of SA’s Parliament House calling to “end the genocide” being perpetuated in Gaza.

Exactly a week has passed since the previous Palestine rally was held – but this time there were even more protesters.

Crowds were estimated to exceed 1000.

The crowd was warned to be on their best behaviour but that did not stop them from chanting “Long live Palestine” and “free, free Palestine”.

Familiar faces were seen acting as MC of the rally including Friends of Palestine Australia spokesman Mike Khizam and Ahmed Azhar.

But a new spokeswoman to Sunday’s protest was Australian Green Party Member of the Legislative Council Tammy Franks.

Ms Franks said to stand for justice for Palestine.

“We call for an immediate cease fire, we call to end the siege of Gaza.”

A passionate protester that attended both of the rallies, and plans to go to any future protest was Hawra Jarad.

Ms Jared has only arrived to Australia a few years ago from Syria with her three young daughters.

She said that she “feels bad for all the women and children and civilians.”

The rally ended with the words “we will be back,” wildly chanted by the protesters as it is expected for them to gather again on the 3rd of November.
