Port Wakefield Rd traffic delays, man badly injured, after two major crashes at Two Wells

Closures remain in place on busy Port Wakefield Rd after two crashes at Two Wells, just kilometres apart and within hours of each other, on Friday morning.
Northbound lanes were closed after the Medstar helicopter was called to a major crash between a truck and car, which left a driver fighting for life, about 5am.
The driver of the car was trapped and fire crews quickly worked to remove him from their vehicle.
He was flown to hospital with life-threatening injuries, and his condition has since stabilised.
The driver of the truck, a 30-year-old-man from Mallala, was uninjured and was taken to hospital for mandatory blood tests.
A second crash on Port Wakefield Rd was reported at 7am, a few kilometres north of the first crash and in the southbound lanes, near Brooks Rd, with Medstar also called to attend.
The second crash was between two cars.
Port Wakefield Rd remains closed to all northbound traffic from Port Gawler Rd, with contraflow traffic control in place on the southbound carriageway.
Road users are advised to expect delays for several hours while recovery efforts are underway.
