Olympian Rohan Dennis has been spotted visiting his parents in Hazelwood Park after leaving the luxury Adelaide home where he lived with his wife, Melissa Hoskins, about noon Wednesday.

The 33-year-old former pro cyclist has been charged over the death of his wife on Saturday night with police alleging he was behind the wheel of his Volkswagen ute Hoskins – also an Olympic cyclist and mother of two – suffered fatal injuries in the incident, later dying in hospital.

He has been charged with causing death by dangerous driving, driving without due care and endangering life over the crash and was bailed to face Adelaide Magistrates Court on March 13.

Dennis was spotted with his two young children being greeted by his parents, Brenton and Debbie Dennis, outside their home after arriving in a white Volkswagen.

His brother Scott arrived with his German-born wife Inga and their baby soon after.

Dennis was first seen outside his property in Medindie on Tuesday, later leaving the home in a silver Tarago.

He was again seen on Wednesday, leaving and later returning in the white Volkswagen.

As he entered their $2.45m property in the affluent tree-lined suburb of Medindie, Dennis again did not respond to questions from reporters about what had happened on Saturday night or how his children were coping.

“Are the kids going OK,” one reporter asked.

Hoskins, 32, was a former professional cyclist who raced for Australia in the Olympics. Her devastated family released a statement on Tuesday.

“Words cannot convey our grief, sadness and the tragic circumstances of Melissa’s passing,” Ms Hoskins’ parents Peter and Amanda and sister Jess said in a statement issued through AusCycling.

It comes after The Advertiser revealed the couple’s young children were heard playing with Dennis on Tuesday morning in the backyard of the Avenel Gardens Rd home. But they were also heard crying several times.

That day, a friend arrived just before 11.30am and stayed in the property

The friend later spoke to media and requested no footage of the children be captured as they prepared to leave the house in the afternoon.

The children were driven away in one car while Dennis left the property, driven in a separate car, a silver Toyota Tarago, about 20 minutes later just after 3pm.

As he left his property, Dennis did not respond to questions from reporters about what had happened on Saturday night or how he was feeling.
