Kyle Hemi has been found safe and well after he was reported as missing from June 1.
SA Police said Mr Hemi’s family reported him missing on June 7, but the 39-year-old was last seen on June 1 at the Arkaroola Village.
He was reported as being safe and well on Thursday night.
Assistant Commissioner Ian Parrott on Wednesday said Kyle, who is about 180cm tall and has chin-length dreadlocks, left personal items at the village and said he was expected to return on June 7.
“He has been known to go off grid for a period of time,” Assistant Commissioner Parrott said.
“But given these circumstances … means that we also hold some concerns that he may be injured or his vehicle may have been disabled.”
Police said they believed Mr Hemi may have been driving a white Toyota Hiace rental van with the South Australian registration number S129CWL.
Mr Parrott said police were worried that impending weather could have made searches for Mr Hemi difficult, especially if he was in trouble.
This is not the first time Mr Hemi has been reported missing – in 2021, while living in Bucasia, Queensland, he told family and friends he was going camping, but was not seen for a month.
