A man will face court over alleged child sex offences after being extradited from interstate.

Mother’s plea after ‘allowing’ child sex offender into her home

A 24-year-old man who has now been charged with more than a dozen child sexual offences had been extradited from New South Wales on Friday.

Police will allege the offences were committed in the Eyre Peninsula area between 2020 and 2023.

The man was charged with 19 child sexual offences including, two counts of unlawful sexual intercourse, eight counts of indecent assault and eight counts of producing child exploitation material.

He has been refused police bail and is due to appear in the Adelaide Magistrates Court on July 8.

Officer in Charge Special Crimes Investigation Section Detective Chief Inspector Matthew Lyons said South Australia Police were absolutely committed to apprehending and prosecuting those who go after “our communities most vulnerable”.

“I commend the investigators for their relentless efforts and our community is safer as a result of this arrest,” he said.
