A man will spend Christmas morning in critical condition in hospital after being struck by a car early in the morning.
Just before 12.30am on Wednesday, emergency services were called to Grand Junction Rd in Valley View after reports a car and pedestrian had collided.
The pedestrian, a 47-year-old man from no fixed address, was taken via ambulance to hospital where he remains being treated for critical injuries.
A 22-year-old man from Croydon Park who was driving the Hyundai i30 was uninjured and is assisting with inquiries.
Police are asking anyone who witnessed the collision or has information that may assist with the investigation to contact Crime Stoppers.
