A 68-year-old Lower Mitcham man has died in a single-car crash in Echunga

Emergency services were called to the area after reports of a crash at about 5.30pm on Monday.

A 68-year-old man has died after crashing into tree in the Adelaide Hills this evening.

Police were called to Kavanagh Rd in Echunga after reports a car collided with a tree just before 5.30pm on Monday.

Emergency crews rushed to the scene, but the man, of Lower Mitcham, died at the scene.

Major Crash officers attended to determine the cause of the crash.

Kavanagh Road was closed to all traffic between Battunga Road and Shepherd Road, but is expected to re-open around 10pm.

The man’s death is the 32nd life lost on South Australian roads this year.
