Married At First Sight’s pocket rocket Jamie Marinos says she’s met her match in husband Dave Hand.
But are sparks soon to fly with a blast from the past?
Talking to The Advertiser, Jamie, who is from Adelaide but lives in Melbourne, admits she is a “firecracker”.
And the 29-year-old has no regrets about going off at groom Tim Gromie during Monday’s dinner party episode.
“I’m so glad I stood up for Katie (Johnston),” she says of his “gorgeous” bride.
Adding she found Tim’s behaviour “triggering”, Jamie confesses: “I was really rubbish at picking men”.
Jamie, who works in marketing, says she signed up for MAFS believing it would either give her a life partner and baby daddy or “a really good lesson”.
And so far, her groom, Victorian builder Dave, is looking like a keeper.
Except there could be an ex waiting in the wings.
The Advertiser heard a rumour that Jamie and MAFS groom Teejay Halkias already knew one another before filming commenced: an insider from the show has even suggested their past relationship was definitely not platonic.
When asked about Teejay, Jamie says: “He hasn’t entered (the experiment), so I can’t comment”.
That said, she does admit to knowing him from “when I was 17 in Adelaide”.
Jamie didn’t reveal whether they were just friends or romantically involved at the time, but responded “yes” when asked if Teejay is also originally from Adelaide.
We did some research and Teejay played for Port Adelaide in the SANFL (Jamie, BTW, is a Power fan) and, in 2018, he won the male division of the Australian Supermodel of the Year competition in Bali.
Teejay also has reality TV form; he has also appeared on Big Brother.
Open to another reality TV role herself, Jamie responds “yes” when asked if the serve she gave Tim might just be an entree.
Jamie also hinted that she will have a starring role in other explosive dinner party episodes.
“I can’t help but stand up for what is right,” she says.
“You’ve got to just follow your gut and stand up for the women – be a girl’s girl.”
