Supermodel mum-to-be Adelaide’s Adut Akech Bior has revealed she’s married in a cover story for Vogue Australia.
Adult, who came to South Australia from Africa as a child refugee, has called her high school sweetheart, fellow model Samuel Elkhier, “husband” in the article.
The newlyweds were the stars of a secret project in the Adelaide Hills about a month ago.
They were joined by Adut’s family, her mother Mary, her sisters, Yar, Alakiir and Akuol, and brother Bior and his partner Monique Merenda.
The party, which included stylist Kaila Matthews and photographer Jesse Lizotte for Vogue Australia, “took over” Stirling for the photo shoot.
The images captured include one of Adut in a lace outfit which features on the “Super Mother” cover of Vogue Australia’s November issue.
In the simply stunning portrait, the 24-year-old shows off her baby bump.
The cover story is a conversation with Vogue Australia editor-in-chief, Adelaide’s Christine Centenera.
It focused the supermodel’s impending motherhood.
Adut had already revealed on Instagram that she was expecting a baby girl.
The chat in Vogue Australia covered that but also revealed the couple had tied the knot, with Adut referring to Elkhier as her “husband”.
The marriage was obviously a private affair because there is no trace of the nuptials on social media.
Adut, who indicated she was planning to give birth in Los Angeles where she is based, spoke about how she expected to return to work early next year.
“(I will) Go back for an exclusive or something in Paris (as part of fashion week) at the beginning of March and kind of make that my return,” she said.
Adut also talked about not only spending more time here but moving back permanently to be closer to her family: “There are so many places I don’t know in Adelaide, and I think, ‘This place is really beautiful!’ Out of everywhere, I feel like I’m always going to come back here. I actually just bought a piece of land, and next year we’re going to start building.”
Vogue Australia’s November issue is on sale Monday, November 4.
