An Adelaide house has lost its roof after a massive fire ripped through it early on Thursday morning.

A house in Adelaide’s northeast has been destroyed by a huge fire overnight.

MFS crews rushed to the Wright Rd, Valley View, property about 3am on Thursday morning, following reports of flames coming out of the house.

Frightening footage obtained by 7NEWS shows giant flames surrounding the home, with smoke billowing from the roof, as firefighters battled to contain the blaze.

The house’s roof collapsed in the inferno but the MFS was able to contain the blaze and ensure no other homes were damaged.

No one was inside at the time of the incident, and the house is believed to be abandoned.

Fire Cause Investigators and SAPOL have gone to the scene, but a cause for the fire has yet to be determined.

The incident comes a month after another Valley View home was also destroyed by fire. 

Around 3:20am on November 20, a property on Vista Ave was engulfed by flames, with the damaged estimated at $200,000.

The homeowner was in the house at the time, but was saved by firefighters.
