Driver gets stuck on train tracks in Adelaide's south

A BMW driver has found their way on to the other side of a Seaton train line boom gate – with a shocked onlooker filming their great escape from the Tapleys Hill Rd / Trimmer Pde tracks.

In the video posted by Dashcams Adelaide, the driver, who appears to have disregarded the ‘stop on red signal’ sign, can be seen attempting to reverse under the boom gate as the person videoing urges them to “hit it”.

Unsure about going forward over the train tracks because the light is red and a train is on the way, the driver finds they can’t fit under the lowered boom gate.

Eventually they give up – and manoeuvre up and over the middle island before driving away.

Commenters on the Facebook post wondered how the car had ended up there, with one saying they may have become hestitant to cross just as the lights changed and then panicked and didn’t reverse.

Another suggested they were lining up on the yellow crosshatch paint when the lights began to flash.

Others felt the driver’s embarassment and said it was an easy mistake to make.
