Alleged Comanchero Mpoyi Mutanda released on bail while facing assault, driving charges

An alleged Comanchero charged with assault, gathering with other bikies and breaching bail has been released back into the community.

An alleged member of the Comanchero motorcycle gang facing charges of associating with fellow bikies, assault, breaching bail and driving without due care has been released on bail.

Mpoyi Mutanda, 21, from Blair Athol appeared in the Adelaide Magistrates Court on Friday.

A magistrate heard the prosecution were not opposed to Mr Mutanda being released on strict home detention bail.

Mr Mutanda is facing allegations of driving without due care and while disqualified from driving at Croydon Park on December 5, 2021.

Police also allege that he was caught driving disqualified on November 18, 2021 at Northfield, breached his bail on August 15, 2022 at Port Adelaide and was caught driving disqualified again on September 25, 2022 at Athelstone.

Additionally, Mr Mutanda has been charged with committing assault and breaching bail over an incident in the Adelaide CBD on November 13, 2022.

Details of that incident are unknown.

Mr Mutanda was also allegedly among multiple other members of the gang who gathered in a northern’-suburbs park in August.

Senior members of the club, including Nelson Erneo, believed to be the Sergeant at Arms of the club, and Stefanos Anagnostopolous, who has been pictured wearing the club’s colours emblazoned with the word “commander”.

Mr Mutanda has yet to enter a plea to that charge.
