60-year-old woman expected to be charged over allegedly stabbing incident at Newton on Thursday

A 60-year-old woman is expected to be charged after allegedly stabbing a man in the neck in Adelaide’s northeastern suburbs.

A woman has been arrested after allegedly violently assaulting a man in Adelaide’s northeastern suburbs on Thursday afternoon.

Emergency services were called to Scott Rd, Newton around 12.15pm, after reports that a 59-year-old man had been stabbed.

Police arrived at the property and found he had stab wounds to his neck, resulting in minor injuries.

He was rushed to hospital for treatment.

A 60-year-old woman, who was known to the man, was quickly arrested, and is expected to be charged later today.

Police are continuing their investigation into the incident, and specified that it was not a random assault.
