20-year-old Adelaide man arrested by JACET for drug trafficking, as further charges could be laid

SAPOL’s elite unit tasked with preventing child exploitation has arrested a western suburbs man for drug trafficking, and is analysing his electronic devices for further evidence.

A western suburbs man has been arrested for trafficking drugs and possessing an unlawful amount of money by detectives from an elite police unit tasked with preventing child exploitation.

The 20-year-old man was arrested after Queensland Police referred the SA Joint Anti child Exploitation Team (JACET), to the man’s western suburbs home in relation to the possession of child exploitation material.

Detectives attended the man’s home on Thursday morning, and allege they found approximately 40 grams of cocaine packed into individual bags and $5000 cash.

Police said further charges could be laid, as digital evidence experts are also conducting a forensic review of electronic devices belonging to the man.

The JACET team is a partnership between SA Police’ Public Protection Branch and the Australian Federal Police, and is tasked with investigating and preventing child exploitation.

The man was arrested and charged with trafficking in a controlled drug and unlawful possession of cash.

He was bailed to appear in the Adelaide Magistrates Court in late March.
