A peek inside the royal family’s beauty cabinets reveals some surprisingly bargain-priced staples. Here are 10 of their favourites:

BEE VENOM MASK, HEAVEN BY DEBORAH MITCHELL

A moisturiser made from the venom of worker bees is the unusual skincare choice of Camilla, Duchess of Cornwall, and Catherine, Duchess of Cambridge. Deborah Mitchell, Camilla’s facialist and the woman behind the Heaven range, used HRH to try out her new invention. “I started treating the Duchess of Cornwall with samples of it … before anyone knew it existed,” she said, “and she loved the results.” It promises to tighten, lift and smooth lines, as an alternative to Botox. The mask comes in silver, black and gold versions, the latter made with the world’s rarest bee venom, for $624.

NIVEA Q10 FIRMING BODY LOTION

$6.50, coles.com.au

“I use this religiously,” Meghan, Duchess of Sussex, said before she was married. “It’s honestly my favourite lotion on the market, it’s so affordable, and makes my skin look and feel amazing. I would buy a case of this at a time if I could find it.” She’s not the only royal to like the bargain beauty brand — Catherine also reportedly uses Nivea Pure and Natural Moisturising Day Cream, $12.99.

ESSIE BALLET SLIPPERS NAIL POLISH

$14.95, priceline.com.au

Even the Queen endorses this shade of nail polish.

It’s the ultimate nude nail colour — a manicure shade so safe, it has royal approval from not only Meghan and Catherine, but also the Queen. HRH has been using it since 1989 when her hairdresser wrote to founder Essie Weingarten requesting a bottle of Ballet Slippers as it was the only colour Her Majesty would wear. Now the whole family applies it.

JO MALONE WILD BLUEBELL COLOGNE

From $98, jomalone.com.au

Meghan is a devotee of British perfume brand Jo Malone and wears the Wild Bluebell cologne and the Wood Sage and
Sea Salt scent. Catherine is also a fan and lit the brand’s Orange Blossom candles, $88, in Westminster Abbey at her 2011 wedding to Prince William. The founder Jo Malone was awarded a CBE at the Queen’s Birthday Honours last month.

The Queen has been using the French brand ever since she commissioned a special shade of lipstick for her coronation in 1953 and still wears their lipsticks, $40. She regularly uses Clarins Hand and Nail Treatment as well as Ever Matte Shine Control Mineral Powder Compact, $50. Catherine was spotted buying a bottle of Super Restorative Total Eye Concentrate, $95. And Meghan uses their Moisture Repairing Lip Balm, $32.

TRILOGY CERTIFIED ORGANIC ROSEHIP OIL

$25.95, myer.com.au

One of these cult bottles sells every 20 seconds around the world — especially after it was revealed Catherine used it throughout her pregnancies. It can be applied as a moisturiser on the face and body and many people also report it fades stretchmarks and scars.

YVES SAINT LAURENT TOUCHE ECLAT

$70, yslbeauty.com.au

It looks like a pen and it’s every savvy man and woman’s secret to erasing dark circles under the eyes. Yves Saint Laurent’s Touche Eclat is used by Meghan and Catherine. “If you’ve worked a 17-hour day and have nothing else on, you will still look relatively alive. Relatively,” Meghan said.

BOBBI BROWN SHIMMER BRICK

$75, bobbibrown.com.au

Catherine uses a lot of Bobbi Brown make-up, including their Long-Wear Even Finish Foundation, $72, and Shimmer Brick. This powder is applied after blusher to add a shimmering glow. Catherine also uses their all-in-one eyebrow kit, the Dark Brow Kit, $75, and their Lip Colours, $47. Meghan, coincidentally, shot an advert for Bobbi Brown in 2016. Princess Eugenie has also revealed she uses Bobbi Brown Bronzing Powder, $65.

CHARLOTTE TILBURY WONDERGLOW FACE PRIMER

$76, charlottetilbury.com

Meghan has beautiful glowing skin and maintains it by using Charlotte Tilbury’s Wonderglow Face Primer which gives the skin a dewy look. She is also a fan of the brand’s Matte Revolution lipstick in Very Victoria — a nude shade inspired by Victoria Beckham, $49. Eugenie also uses their mascara, $48. Charlotte Tilbury even has a royal range
of lipsticks in homage to Catherine and the Queen — who must like them as she awarded Tilbury an MBE at her Birthday Honours last month.

ELIZABETH ARDEN EIGHT HOUR CREAM

$28, myer.com.au

Elizabeth Arden is a royal warrant holder and the Queen is a fan of their original Eight Hour Cream, as is Prince Harry, who was seen using it on his trip to the South Pole in 2013. Her Majesty also likes the brand’s Beautiful Colour Moisturising Lipstick in red, $42.
