Richard Reid’s shocking claim about Karl Stefanovic
Richard Reid dropped a juicy bit of goss about Karl Stefanovic in the I’m a Celeb jungle, and the former Today host won’t be happy.
Richard Reid is not going to be in Karl Stefanovic’s good books when he gets out of the I’m a Celeb jungle.
Reid, who was an entertainment reporter on the Today show for seven years, revealed a juicy bit of goss about Stefanovic to his I’m a Celeb campmate, Angie Kent.
“So I go into the hair room, and this guy looks up and he’s kinda like balding,” Reid recalled from his Today days. “It was Karl Stefanovic without his spray-on hair.”
“He has spray-on hair?” a surprised Kent said.

“Yep, and then he went away and got hair plugs,” Reid said. “He had one of those six-week vacations and came back with (made gestures for hair plugs). And he still used the spray until it filled in.”
“Oh Karlos, bald as an eagle,” Kent replied. “God, he’d be so cross if he knew that was being spread around.”
This isn’t the first time there have been rumours about Stefanovic's hair plugs.
In 2017 the Sydney Morning Herald wrote the Gold Logie winner “bowed to the pressure to maintain his beloved boyish looks and underwent a subtle hair transplant to hide thinning at the front and top of his head a few years ago”.
In 2015 Reid quit the Today show, telling fans on Facebook: “After seven glorious years, it’s time for me to step down as the reigning Gossip Guru of Today.
“My time with the Today team has been one of the wildest and most rewarding of my career. I am truly blessed.”
In a 2017 interview with TV Tonight, Reid was asked about his former Today show co-stars and said he remains “close friends” with Richard Wilkins and was also still mates with Lisa Wilkinson. There was no mention of Stefanovic, who was spectacularly dumped from the Channel 9 breakfast program late last year.
