An eight-legged Halloween surprise has left a woman afraid to sleep in her own bed after encountering a huntsman spider between her bedsheets on two consecutive nights.

In a video posted to TikTok earlier this week, surfer Kobie Enright said her dog alerted her to the new hairy housemates.

“What the actual mother of hell is going on? This is the second night in a row that my dog has woken me up to a second spider on my pillow,” she said.

“My head lays right there, right on those pillows where this guy is hiding … so it’s game time.”

After successfully trapping the spider in a plastic container, she couldn’t believe how defensive the spider became.

“Do you realise you’re in my bed?” she asked.

“Not going to lie, I have this system down pat now as this is the second night in a row, but can someone please tell me how I can keep these guys out of my room? The doors and windows are shut, what is going on?”

This isn’t the only time a huntsman spider has made itself at home in Ms Enright’s bedroom. In January last year, she filmed a large spider walking along her bedroom wall.

“You are way too big for me,” she said at the time.

Commenters were quick to point out that the video served as an anti-tourism advertisement for Australia.

“You’re too calm … my bed would have been on fire,” one commenter said.

“If I woke up to a spider that big on my bed, I’m actually calling the police,” a second commenter said.

In an attempt to convince potential tourists that Australia is still worth visiting, Ms Enright uploaded a second video of a more colourful spider walking on her cup.

But her attempt appeared to fail, with many commenters still wanting to avoid visiting Australia.

“This is why I’m never living in Australia,” one commenter said.

“Cute in Australian must mean something different,” a second commenter added.

One Aussie said they wanted to move to space after watching Ms Enright interact with the spiders.

“As an Australian, I’m about ready to burn down the state. If I had one spider on my pillow, big enough to put me in a headlock, I’m legit buying a ticket to space,” they said.
