Sexual wellness brand Lovehoney polled users from all over the country on what gets them riled up under the sheets, and at the ballot box.

When it comes to the highest libido, Liberal voters were undoubtedly the winners, with 46.1 per cent of respondents rating their libido as high or very high, while only 37.3 per cent of National voters admitted to a high libido.

But in an unpredictable twist, 68.6 per cent of National voters revealed they had a fulfilling sex life, while only 50 per cent of One Nation voters described their sex lives as satisfying.

Greens took the win for the highest percentage of fakers in the bedroom, with 62 per cent admitting they have pretended to be sexually satisfied under the sheets, while only 27 per cent of One Nation voters were untruthful about orgasms.

In terms of going solo, One Nation leads the pack at 34 per cent of users admitting they pleasure themselves at least once a day, while only 13 per cent of Nationals were happy to take self-pleasure into their own hands.

Regardless of what the results indicated, Christine Rafe, a Sex and Relationship Expert at Lovehoney, advised against mixing politics with intimacy.

“Keep debate out of the bedroom,” she said.

“While we’re all for communication and talking, sometimes it’s best to leave debate at the door – a sure-fire mood killer is discussing politics during playtime. Stick to pleasure over politics in the bedroom.”
