Incredible drone footage has shown the extent of the floods currently inundating the city of Maryborough.
Local resident Arthur More sent his drone up on Monday afternoon, before the river peaked at just under 10m last night, to capture the floods.
He said he was “shocked” to see how much damage had already been done.
“We knew it was going to happen, but what shocked me the most is that the flood gate in the CBD had failed,” Mr More said.
His drone footage saw the widespread impact of the floods with entire shop fronts underwater.
The local Woolworths can be seen almost entirely overtaken by the floods, as well as other local shops in the CBD including a car dealership.
Other footage shows the impact to the Lamington Bridge from the river overflow and Gympie Road on Tinana Schultz Bridge.
Arthur said he and his family were lucky enough to stay safe and dry where their house was located.
Meanwhile, other communities, including Granville, are isolated due to the rising floodwaters, which reached a peak of 10m last night, and boats are assisting them with restocking essentials.
