A popular Gold Coast man who was reported missing has tragically been found dead, sparking an outpouring of grief led by his devastated partner.

A large-scale search was launched last week for Tugun man Jeffy Norris, 38, after he went missing last Wednesday.

His body was found two days later after what police said was a non-suspicious death.

Mr Norris went missing just two weeks after posting about his mother on social media.

He left behind a partner, Brooke Stone, and young son Lucky.

“Forever the three of us,” a shattered Ms Stone posted on Facebook beneath a touching photo of her, Mr Norris and Lucky together on the beach.

“RIP to our hero, the best dad and partner in the world. He would of done anything for us. I’m so heartbroken, we love you Jeff!”

Mr Norris was well-known and much-loved on the southern Gold Coast where he went to Palm Beach-Currumbin State High and was a popular member of Palm Beach Boardriders Club.

Tributes flowed on social media, with friends describing him as “a beautiful soul” and “an amazing person”.

“Oh Jeffy Norris we are all going to miss you mate,” prominent surf coach and former Australian surfing champion Mark Richardson posted.

“I will never forget our chats at the beach and how you would inspire and motivate me to get out there and surf. So many good lefts surfed together hooting each other.

“The last time we spoke I will never forget – we were talking about where our lives were at and you seemed to be really good and strong. That’s exactly how I will remember you mate.

“Good bless you and all your family and friends. Rest in peace now mate.”

Earlier this month, Mr Norris posted a heartfelt poetic tribute to his mother, who died on October 2.

“Hey Mum, it’s time to ride the wave. You taught me love, you helped me be brave.

“Through all the highs and gnarly lows, your spirit’s with me wherever I go.

“With each sunrise, I feel your light, guiding me through the darkest night.

“You showed me how to catch that swell, In my heart, you’ll always dwell.

Though the tide pulls us apart, your love’s a current in my heart.

“So here’s my shout, my final cheer, thanks for the stoke, Mum, love you, dear.

“Keep shredding in the skies above, I’ll ride this life with all your love. I love you Mum, rest in power.”

A GoFundMe campaign has been launched to raise funds for Mr Norris’ partner and son and to help pay for his funeral.
