Three teenagers charged by police after alleged stolen vehicle crash at New Farm

Police, including an off-duty officer, chased down three teens who have been charged after an allegedly stolen vehicle was involved in a crash in an inner-city suburb. WATCH THE DRAMATIC ARREST VIDEO

Three teenagers have been charged after an allegedly stolen vehicle was involved in a crash in an inner-city suburb of Brisbane on Saturday.

It is alleged the teens were inside a stolen silver Ford Fairlane, which police allege was stolen from a Nudgee property at around 2.40am on Saturday, which struck several vehicles parked in the vicinity of Bowen Tce and Moray St, New Farm just before noon.

Following the crash, the three occupants of the vehicle fled the scene on foot.

An off-duty police officer took two of the alleged occupants, both teenage girls, into custody on Barker St, New Farm.

Uniformed police apprehended the third alleged occupant, a teenage boy, and took him into custody at Bowman Lane, New Farm.

Police released bodycam vision of the arrest of the 17-year-old boy, showing a police officer running after the boy, before two officers pinned him to the ground.

After he was handcuffed and walked away, the police officer said to nearby people watching on “sorry about the entertainment”.

A 17-year-old boy was charged with unlawful use of motor vehicle in company, dangerous operation of motor vehicle, receiving tainted property, and breach of bail.

A 14-year-old girl was charged with two counts of stealing, unlawful use of motor vehicle in company, and breach of bail.

They will both appear in Brisbane Children’s Court on Monday, June 16.

A 16-year-old girl was issued a notice to appear for unlawful use of a motor vehicle, and is due to appear in Brisbane Childrens Court on June 27.
