What time do you wake up on a Saturday?
Most Saturdays I have training, so I’m up at 5.30am to get myself and Sampson (son, nine months) ready before I leave and head to the pool. If I don’t have training, we’ll sleep in until 7am, or as long as the little man lets us, and then head to the Brisbane Powerhouse Farmers Markets in New Farm for breakfast and to stock up on fruit and veg for the week ahead.
Best place to go with family?
I love heading to the local markets because there are so many things to smell, see and eat. Sampson loves it too, and it’s a great way to enjoy family time, while getting out and about and making the most of the Brisbane weather.
Favourite park?
Ascot Park is great for the little kids and it’s close to home, so we can walk there, which is a bonus.
Local coffee haunt?
I don’t drink coffee, but I never go past a smoothie from The Brass at Hendra. It’s my go-to.
Best spot for date night?
Ryan (Gallagher, fiance) and I love an Escape Room – it’s our favourite thing to do when we have the opportunity to spend time together or with friends. Our favourite one at the moment is Escape Manor in the city.
Favourite takeaway?
Love Thai at Nundah is our go-to for the best takeout. I always order the chicken fried rice.
Where and when do you exercise?
I exercise every day. I have a Your Reformer at home so I can do pilates whenever I can, and I’m currently back doing swimming training, so I’m often at the pool or gym. A usual week for me includes eight swim and two gym sessions.
Best hidden treasure in Queensland?
Currumbin on the Gold Coast – it’s a great family spot and we have so many happy memories there with Sampson already.
Favourite place to holiday in Queensland?
I love the beach and the warm weather, so I can’t go past the Gold Coast or the Sunshine Coast. We’ve got two amazing holiday destinations right on our doorstep here in Brisbane.
What’s your idea of the perfect Saturday?
Spending time with my family, which is even sweeter now that Sampson is here. And if I have time, squeezing in a nice nap.
