Sea World reveals opening date for new Leviathan roller coaster

Sea World has revealed when it will finally open its much-hyped it new wooden roller coaster.

Sea World has revealed it will open it’s much-anticipated wooden roller coaster next week, ahead of the school holidays.

The $20 million Leviathan coaster will take its first passengers next Friday, the Gold Coast theme park announced.

It follows final testing and commissioning by the park’s bosses and engineers on Saturday.

The striking 32m high, 909m long coaster, which can reach speeds of 80km/h, was slated to open in 2020 but was derailed by Covid.

Village Roadshow CEO Clark Kirby said the opening was an exciting milestone and he could not wait to welcome guests to The New Atlantis precinct which houses the coaster.

“Our team have done an outstanding job in creating this truly unique precinct and I am incredibly proud and excited to be opening another major drawcard for the Gold Coast as we come into our peak season,” he said.
