Real Housewives of Brisbane: Global reality franchise rumoured to expand to Queensland

In the strongest sign yet that Queensland will get its own Real Housewives spin-off, producers are rumoured to be scouting well-known women from the local social scene

It seems Queensland might finally be getting its own Real Housewives spin-off.

Producers of the global juggernaut franchise are rumoured to be scouting talent across Brisbane and the Gold Coast looking to expand the franchise to the Sunshine State.

A number of high profile women have reportedly been approached by producers and while some told friends they declined the opportunity, opting to keep their lives private, others are said to be undergoing screen tests in the coming weeks.

While Foxtel declined to comment on the speculation, the production is rumoured to begin filming in early 2023 – following successful screen testing.

Among the women reportedly approached by producers include a prominent designer, a WAG, a radio personality, a real estate gun, a PR queen turned entrepreneur, and a glamorous Gold Coast socialite.

Foxtel successfully launched the reality franchise in Australia through Real Housewives of Melbourne, with the fifth season airing at the end of 2021.

Rumours of a spin-off in the Sunshine State first began in 2016 but it never went ahead.

Instead a Real Housewives of Sydney franchise aired in 2017, and was never renewed.

If a franchise in southeast Queensland goes into production it will undoubtedly cause a stir in the social scene’s inner cliques and slate of VIP events.
